Angell Mutoni is a powerhouse poet, rapper, and singer-songwriter reshaping the Rwandan music scene. Blending Poetic Afro-HipHop, Soulful RnB, and Pop, her sound is both bold and introspective, laced with storytelling that resonates deeply. With three mixtapes and three EPs under her belt, she is gearing up to release her highly anticipated debut album this year.

Her electrifying stage presence has lit up major East African festivals like Blankets & Wine, Bayimba Festival, and Amani Festival, while also earning her a place on global stages such as Pop Kultur Festival (Berlin) and CHOGM 2022 (Kigali). A 2016 RFI Prix Découvertes top 10 nominee, Angell is often hailed as Rwanda’s Queen of Hip-Hop by both peers and fans.

Beyond music, she is the founder of the Eclectic Nappy Heads Collective, a groundbreaking initiative fostering sisterhood, safe spaces, and growth for aspiring women musicians. Passionate about sonic experimentation and collaboration, she believes in the transformative power of music and community.

Expanding her creative reach, Angell is also the creator and co-host of The Kila Kitu Podcast, where she and her co-hosts engage in thought-provoking conversations on everyday life with a diverse range of guests.
